MEN'S TENNIS DOWNED BY ST. JOHN'S

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team tallied just one match victory en route to an 8-1 loss to St. John's (MN) here today on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The Blugolds fall to 2-6 for the season while the Johnnies improve to 6-4 overall.

St. John's claimed victories in all six singles matches and the first two doubles matches before the No. 3 doubles tandem of Chris Baga (Fr.-Duluth, MN/Marshall College Prep) and Aaron Nordenskjold (Fr.-Red Wing, MN) earned a 9-8 (5) victory to tally the lone point for Eau Claire.

Three members of the Blugolds earned 6-1 first-set victories in singles but were unable to hold on for the match win.

Eau Claire will be in action this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the YMCA Tournament in Eau Claire.
