MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS TO COMPETE AT YMCA TOURNAMENT
EAU CLAIRE - The men's and women's tennis teams will be competing in the YMCA Tournament this weekend held at the YMCA Tennis Center.
Matt Widder (Sr.-Sheboygan Falls) went 2-1 in last year's tournament to advance to the semifinals before falling in the third set. Widder paired with Adam Arians (Sr.-Mankato, MN/Loyola) to advance to the tournament semifinals in doubles action before losing in the third set.
Arians, Justin Koehler (Jr.-Appleton/West) and Chris Slagle (Jr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin-Derham Hall) all won their opening round matches last year before falling in the second round.
The YMCA Tournament will be the first action for the women since the fall season concluded. Jenny Stafford (Sr.-Middleton) won her first two matches in last year's tournament before falling to teammate Alison Hover in the finals.
Lindsey Lee (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) and Molly Cadwell (Sr.-Fridley, MN) each won their opening round matches last year before falling in the second round.
The tournament is scheduled to start Friday night and conclude Sunday.
