MEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO ST. SCHOLASTICA

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team won two out of three doubles matches but ultimately fell 5-2 to the College of St. Scholastica here today at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center tennis courts.

The number one doubles team of Matt Widder (Sr.-Sheboygan Falls) and Adam Arians (Sr.-Mankato, MN/Loyola) improve their record to 4-6 with an 8-2 win.

Aaron Nordenskjold (Fr.-Red Wing, MN) and Chris Baga (Fr.-Duluth, MN/Marshall College Prep) won their first match together at three doubles convincingly 8-0.

Chad Fawcett (Jr.-Madison/Verona) was the only Blugold to win in singles competition with his 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 win at five singles. Arians and Nordenskjold each won their opening set at two and three singles, respectively, but dropped the next two sets.

The Blugolds drop to 2-5 in dual meets with the loss.

Eau Claire will be in action next when they travel to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on St. John's Wednesday, March 10. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
