SWIMMING AND DIVING AWARD WINNERS ANNOUNCED

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire swimming and diving teams recently held their banquet and honored several members of the team.

A couple of Blugolds took home two awards. Nationals competitor Cori Severson (Sr.-Brainerd, MN) won the Most Valuable Blugold Award as well as the Swimmer of the Year. Scott Heatwole (Sr.-Port Washington) took home awards for Most Valuable Blugold and Diver of the Year.

The Most Inspirational honor went to Cale Schmidt-Jackson (Jr.-Duluth, MN/East) on the men's side while Emily Diehl (So.-Prairie du Sac/Sauk Prairie) collected the award for the women.

Two men won the Most Improved Award. Clark Draxler (Fr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) and Daryl Gottfredsen (Fr.-Eau Claire/North) earned it for the men and Emily Viau (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) did for the women.

Pat Finley (Fr.-Waunakee) and Annie Gorman (Sr.-Menomonie) were deemed the most qualified for the Hardest Worker Award.

The Coaches' Blugold Award went to Brian Bartlett.

The newly elected captains are Brian Jordan (So.-Madison/West) for the men, Alissa Condra (Jr.-Rhinelander) for the women, and Sarah Myers (Jr.-Eau Claire/North) for divers.
