| Men's Hockey Assistant Coach - Bob Thorp
Bob Thorp enters his second season as an assistant men’s hockey coach for the Blugolds. Thorp will be responsible for aiding in recruiting, on-ice game analysis and takes the lead in coaching the goalies.
Thorp played for the Blugolds from 1993-97 and was a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) honorable mention selection in 1994-95. Thorp was a member of the 1994-95 and 1995-96 squads that posted the seventh fewest points allowed in a season (114) in school history. Individually Thorp ranks seventh for save percentage in a season at .890 during the 1994-95 season.
After his career with the Blugolds concluded Thorp has spent numerous years teaching goaltending throughout the Midwest.
"Bob is a lifetime friend and has been a teammate of mine in college and high school," said Blugold head coach Luke Strand. "His playing, teaching and personal skills are a great asset to our goalies and our program."
