Blugold Men's Cross Country

2007 Alumni Awards Banquet


 

Former Blugold cross country and track assistant Randy Wilber (third from right, back row) was a recipient of the President’s Award at the Alumni Awards banquet December 15.

The President’s Award recognizes outstanding professional or personal achievements or service to UW-Eau Claire.

Wilber is currently a senior sport physiologist at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he oversees the operation of the athlete performance laboratory.

While a student at UW-Eau Claire, Wilber was a graduate assistant coach in cross country and track.  He earned his master’s degree in teaching from UWEC in 1979. 

Several former Blugold distance runners and coaches were able to attend the awards banquet.  The group includes (front, l to r), current men’s and women’s head cross country coach Dan Schwamberger, Director of Athletics Scott Kilgallon (also a former cross country coach), Mike Revello, former men’s cross country coach Sean Hartnett, Marty Bushland.  Back:  John Vodacek, Bill Langhout, Todd Herbert, Wilber, Rich Maleniak and former Blugold head athletic trainer and head men’s track coach Bill Meiser.
