Men's Basketball Assistant Coach - Keith Muchow

Keith Muchow enters his first season
as top assistant for the Blugold men’s basketball
team, after spending five seasons as a volunteer assistant
coach for the Blugolds. Muchow is also a strength coordinator
at UW-Eau Claire.
Prior to Eau Claire Muchow was
an assistant girl’s basketball coach at Cuba City
High School for one season. That year the Cubans advanced
to the WIAA Division 3 sectional finals falling to eventual
state champion Lakeside Lutheran. Muchow played high school
basketball at Cuba City for legendary coach Jerry Petitgoue,
the all-time winningest coach in Wisconsin high school
basketball history. Muchow also spent two months as an
assistant basketball for the Cuba City boy’s basketball
team in 1998 that went on to win the Division III state
championship.
Muchow has attended and participated
in various camps and coaching clinics including The Original
Deck DeVenzio/Dena Evans Point Guard College, Jay Smith’s
Central Michigan Post-Perimeter Camp, UW-Platteville Bo
Ryan’s Pioneer, UW-Eau Claire Badger Boy’s,
Jerry Petitgoue’s Tri-State and Cuba City basketball
camps. Muchow has also attended the Don Meyer (Northern
State) Coaching Academy, Colorado Coaching Academy (Metro
State College) and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association
Fall and Spring Clinics.
Muchow received his bachelor’s
degree from Concordia University of Wisconsin with a degree
in athletic training including minors in coaching and
organizational communications in May 1998. He also received
his master’s degree in sport administration from
UW-La Crosse in May 2000. Muchow is a Certified Strength
and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National
Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also
a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches
(NABC) and the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association
(WBCA).
In August 2006 Muchow married the
former Ashley Nelson, a former gymnast and track athlete
at UW-Eau Claire. The couple recently welcomed an addition
to the family, giving birth to daughter Reagan earlier
this fall.
