BEYER NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-WIAC

MADISON – UW-Eau Claire men’s basketball inside player Dan Beyer (Jr.-Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) has been named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) honorable mention team, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

The 6-7 Beyer led the Blugolds averaging 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Beyer also led the Blugolds in field goal percentage (.525), free throws made (65) and attempted (90), offensive rebounds (68), steals (23) and minutes played (29.6 per game). Statistically Beyer ranks third in offensive rebounding (2.62 per game), fifth in the WIAC in field goal percentage, seventh in rebounding, ninth in scoring and defensive rebounding (4.12 per game) and 12th in minutes played. Beyer was tops among all WIAC players when he made 15 field goals and scored 40 points in a 73-72 loss at UW-Whitewater on February 17. Beyer’s point total was the most by a Blugolds since Chester Smith scored 41 points against UW-Oshkosh in 1984. Beyer recorded five double-doubles in both scoring and rebounding this season. Only one other Blugold achieved a scoring and rebounding double-double this season.
