BASKETBALL YOUTH NIGHTS SET FOR JANUARY 7 & 9

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Eau Claire men’s and women’s basketball teams will host youth nights for the community at home basketball games in Zorn Arena on January 7 and 9.

At both games, two youths (age 5-17) will be admitted to the game free with one paid adult. The cost of adult admission is $6.

The men’s basketball youth night will take place during the January 7 game against Finlandia University, which is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m. A number of activities are planned before, during and after the game.

Prior to the men’s game, kids will be allowed to line the floor to high-five the Blugolds as they take the court. At halftime, 24 autographed basketballs will be given away, as well as a chance for one lucky contestant to win $10,000. Following the game, fans may have their favorite players and coaches autograph cards that will be available that night.

The women will also hold youth night at this Wednesday’s game against UW-Superior that is slated for 7 p.m. It will also be Leader-Telegram night.

Autograph cards will be available for fans for a signing session following the game. At halftime, Leader-Telegram staff will hold a contest where five youths will shoot free throws to win up to a $100 prize.

J.J. Jumper, the NCAA’s mascot, will also be in attendance at the women’s game to entertain the crowd and distribute prizes the entire night. J.J. Jumper will also sign autographs after the game.
