KOOISTRA, LONEY NAMED WIAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire soccer forward Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN) and women's golfer Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls) have been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Kooistra scored two goals in 1:17 to help give UW-Eau Claire a 2-1 victory over UW-La Crosse on September 17. She scored goals at 52:28 and 53:45 to give the Blugolds a 2-0 lead against the Eagles. The win put the Blugolds on top of the conference standings with a 2-0-0 record.

Loney finished third overall at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic held September 17-18. She finished with 147 strokes (75 on the first day, 72 on the second day) to help the Blugolds to a third-place finish out of 25 teams.
