BECKER, HEATWOLE NAMED WIAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire women's basketball guard Rachel Becker (Sr.-Gilmanton) and men's diver Scott Heatwole (Sr.-Port Washington) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athletes of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Becker averaged nearly a triple-double in two league contests during the week. In a 77-54 victory at UW-Superior on January 18, she scored eight points, dished out eight assists, grabbed seven rebounds and collected three steals. In a 66-50 win at No. 24-ranked UW-La Crosse on January 21, Becker posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists to go along with seven rebounds. For the week, she averaged 10.0 points, 9.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals to help UW-Eau Claire increased its WIAC winning streak to four games.

Heatwole won first place in the three-meter dive, while finishing second in the one-meter dive in a dual meet against Macalester (Minn.) on January 20 with scores of 252.90 and 249.68, respectively. At the Get to the Point Invitational on January 21, he finished second in the three-meter dive with a national qualifying score of 461.45.
