BLUGOLD GYMNASTS TAKE SECOND AT QUADRANGULAR
EAU CLAIRE - Lynn Morris (So.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) took first place in the all-around competition with a score of 37.250 to lead the UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team to a second place finish here tonight at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center.
Morris finished first in the balance beam and floor exercise events and second in the vault and uneven bars. She had the top Blugold score in the bars, beam and floor exercise and tied with Alison Eagles (Jr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) for top honors in the vault.
Eagles tied for second with Morris in the vault and finished fifth all-around. Chelsea Romportl (Fr.-Rice Lake) took fifth in the uneven bars while Ashley Nelson (Sr.-Darwin, MN/Litchfield) added a fifth place finish in the floor exercise.
Hamline University edged out Eau Claire 179.900-179.275 to finish first overall. UW-Oshkosh was next at 175.825 with UW-Whitewater finishing last at 172.250.
The Blugolds will be in action next when they travel to Menomonie to compete in the John Zuerlein Invitational Friday. The invite is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
