GYMNASTS TIE FOR THIRD AT GERSHON/McLELLAN INVITE
LA CROSSE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team tied for third with a score of 179.950 at the Gershon/McLellan Invitational held here today at Mitchell Hall on the UW-La Crosse campus.
Lynn Morris (So.-Monticello, IN/Twin Cities) was the top Blugold performer with an all-around score of 36.975, second only to last year's national runner-up Amanda Parker. Morris took second in both the vault and uneven bars events.
Alison Eagles (Jr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) also had a good competition finishing fourth overall all-around. Eagles finished fifth in the floor exercise, sixth on the balance beam and seventh on the vault.
Three-time defending national champion UW-La Crosse finished first with an overall score of 184.650 while Gustavus Adolphus finished second with a score of 183.400.
The Blugolds will be in action next when they travel to Menomonie to compete against UW-Stout and UW-La Crosse Friday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
