ROEKER NAMED WIAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire linebacker Jared Roeker (So.-Mauston) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) defensive player of the week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Roeker had 14 tackles and two interceptions in UW-Eau Claire's 24-10 loss to No. 2 ranked St. John's (MN). He neutralized a Blugold turnover in the second quarter with his first interception, which was eventually turned into a Blugold score that cut the Johnnies' lead to 10-7. Roeker intercepted another pass in the third quarter which led to a Blugold field goal and a tie game.
