SCHNEIDER HONORED AS WIAC OUTDOOR COACH OF THE YEAR

MADISON, Wis. – UW-Eau Claire women’s track and field head coach Chip Schneider has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s (WIAC) outdoor coach of the year, conference spokesman Matt Stanek announced today.

Schneider, in this second season, led his women’s team to a second place finish at the 2008 WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend, the best finish in school history at the championships. Last year the Blugolds placed fourth at the championships with 110 points but increased to 158.5 this season.

This season Schneider also received coach of the year honors for the Blugolds’ indoor season after taking second place at the WIAC Indoor Championships.
