WOMEN'S TRACK COMPETES AT DRAKE RELAYS
DES MOINES, IA - A number of relay teams and an individual competed for the UW-Eau Claire women's track team today at the grand Drake Relays with some fine results. Stephanie Barnes (Jr.-Sauk City/Sauk Prairie), the only individual competing for Eau Claire at the Drake Relays, placed 17th on a leap 3.50 meters (11'53/4") in the pole vault. In the 4x400-meter relay, Liz Kooistra (Fr.-Lakeville, MN), Liz Faller (Jr.-Marinette), Laura Broner (Fr.-Madison/Memorial), and Shalene Huth (Jr.-Appleton/West) clocked in at 3:55.15, but failed to make the finals. They placed 10th. The 4x100-meter relay team of Kjersten Holt (So.-Long Prairie, MN/LP Grey Eagle), Kelly Sprague (Jr.-Mankato, MN/East), Huth, and Erin Kokta (Sr.-Brookfield/East) did not qualify for finals today after running a 49.58 race and finishing 16th. Sprague, Kokta, Anna Sutherland (Fr.-Roseville, MN), and Holt competed in the 4x200-meter relay, but were disqualified. The next event in store for the team is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Championships next Friday and Saturday in Oshkosh. Drake Relays Results - PH -
