WOMEN’S TENNIS BEATS STEVENS POINT
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Eau Claire women’s tennis team moves to 9-2 overall with a win
yesterday over UW-Stevens Point
In doubles, Sarah Riordan (Sr.-Appleton/North)and Gina Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson) notched an 8-2 victory at No. 1 play. The No. 2 team of Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (So. Greendale) and the No. 3 duo of Liz Deprey (Sr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame)and Kristin Neuman (Sr.-Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) both won 8-3. The singles competitors were just as dominant. Riordan won in No. 1 singles with 6-1, 6-0 scores. Dahl had a 6-2 match in No. 2 play followed by the closest match of the day in a 7-5 win. Carlson had 6-1’s in her two sets for the No. 3 singles win. In No. 4 play, McCormick won 6-0, 6-1. Erin Welch (So.-Tomah) took 6-3, 6-0 games while Katie Brugh (So.-Burnsville, MN) took 6-1, 6-4 sets to win at No. 5 and No. 6 competition.
