WOMEN’S TENNIS SERVES UP A WIN

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-Eau Claire women’s tennis team took a 7-2 win today over the College of St. Catherine (Minn.) in its first action since spring break.

The Blugolds took two of the three doubles matches. Sarah Riordan (Sr.-Appleton, Wis./North) and Gina Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson, Wis.) took their No. 1 match 8-4 while Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View) and Erin Welch (So.-Tomah, Wis.) came through with an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles.

Riordan blanked her opponent in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Dahl took a 7-5, 6-2 win in second level play. Carlson won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-2 while Welch’s 6-2, 6-2 match came in the No. 4 competition. Michelle Reinders (Fr.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) also blanked her foe 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth level.

Eau Claire will next play April 6 at 11 a.m. against St. Scholastica (Minn.). The team will be in Duluth, Minn.
