WOMEN'S TENNIS SQUAD TAKES SECOND TEAM OF THE DAY

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team won its second matchup of the day by defeating Winona State University 8-1.

The team had previously beaten Luther College 6-3 earlier today. The two wins move Eau Claire to 6-0 in dual meets this season.

The singles players swept the board. Sarah Riordan (Jr.-Appleton/North) won 6-2, 7-6, and 7-4 in the tiebreaker. Gina Dahl (Fr.-Fort Atkinson) posted 6-2s while Kristie Carlson (Jr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) posted scores of 6-0, 7-5. Laura Geissler (Sr.-Coon Rapids, MN) took her matches 6-3, 6-0 and Brenna McCormick (Fr.-Greendale) totaled a 7-5 and a 6-2. No. 6 player Kristin Neuman (Jr.-Green Bay/Ashwaubenon) had 6-1 games for her victory.

The No. 2 doubles team of Carlson and McCormick won 8-2, as did the No. 3 team of Liz Deprey (Jr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame) and Dahl.

The ITA Regional is the next event for the team. Luther College hosts the event from September 22nd to the 24th.
