KUZMA GRABS TITLE ON SECOND DAY OF LUTHER INVITE

DECORAH, IA - UW-Eau Claire women's tennis singles player Katie Kuzma (Sr.-Buffalo, MN) won the singles consolation championship in the "A" bracket at the Luther Invitational today.

Kuzma started off the day the "A" consolation bracket by defeating Kara Theis of UW-Whitewater 7-5, 7-6 in the semifinals to advance to the finals. In the finals she would face fellow teammate Kristie Carlson (So.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) who defeated her semifinal opponent 6-1, 6-1. Kuzma would get the upper hand as she defeated Carlson 8-3 to capture the title.

Whitney Hay (So.-New Richmond, WI) finished second in the "B" singles consolation bracket as she lost to Jenny Woyahn of UW-Whitewater 6-2, 6-1.

The Blugolds complete their spring season with a 1-4 spring record and 15-11 overall record.
