TENNIS GIVES OUT TEAM AWARDS
EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's tennis team recently handed out team awards for the 2003-04 season.
Aaron Nordenskjold (Fr.-Red Wing, MN) was named the singles Most Valuable Player. Nordenskjold went a combined 8-11 while switching between four and five singles.
Jenny Stafford (Sr.-Middleton) was named the single Most Valuable Player for the women. Stafford went 18-8 on the season while playing the entire season at one singles.
Adam Arians (Sr.-Mankato, MN/Loyola) was named the doubles Most Valuable Player for the men. Arians went a combined 12-13 in doubles action while playing a majority of his matches at one doubles.
Laura Geissler (Fr.-Coon Rapids, MN) was given the doubles Most Valuable Player award for the women. Geissler went 16-7 while teaming with Molly Cadwell (Sr.-Fridley, MN) at two doubles.
Preston Strodthoff (So.-Eau Claire/Ashland) was named Most Improved for the men. Strodthoff went 1-2 on the year. Geissler was named Most Improved for the women.
Matt Widder (Sr.-Sheboygan Falls) was the recipient of the Coaches Award. Alli Taplin (Fr.-Dayton, MN/Champlin Park) was given the Coaches Award for the women.
Jeff Peterson (Fr.-Edina, MN) was given the Blugold Award for the men while Lindsay Lee (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) was the recipient of the Blugold Award for the women.
