KOLO FINISHES FIFTH AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
ADA, Ohio - Adam Kolo (Sr.-Vesper/Wis. Rapids Lincoln) has earned All-American honors by finishing in fifth place at 197 pounds at the NCAA Division III National Championships concluded here today at Ohio Northern University.
The seventh-seeded Kolo opened the day with a 7-0 decision over fifth-seeded Craig Buckley of Bridgewater State in the fourth round of the consolation bracket. The victory was Kolo's 100th career win.
Kolo added to that total with a 9-2 decision in the consolation quarterfinals over Matt Huset from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Kolo lost in the consolation semifinals to the third-seeded Alain Djoumessi of Wartburg. Kolo came back in the fifth-place match though defeating Olivet's Justin Torres to finish in fifth place.
In the tournament Kolo went 4-2 to finish his Blugold career with a record of 102-31.
