STARKS REMAINS UNDEFEATED IN SIXTH PLACE FINISH
COLLEGEVILLE, MN - Davey Starks (Sr-Stoughton) won the 125 pound bracket and continued his unbeaten season as the Blugolds finished in sixth place at the North Country Tournament here tonight hosted by St. John's University.
The tournament also featured the first and second ranked teams in the nation competing as second-ranked Augsburg won the tourney while first-ranked Wartburg took second place.
Adam Kolo (Sr-Vesper/Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln) took home a third place finish wrestling in the 197 pound weight class. Kolo is currently ranked fourth in the country at the 197 pound weight class according to the latest Brute-Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III individual rankings.
Chris Muller (Sr-Rochester, MN/John Marshall) took fourth place for the Blugolds at the 157 pound weight class while Derek Sikora (Fr-Neilsville) and Troy Seubert (Jr-Maple Grove, MN) each took fifth place finishes at the 165 and 174 pound weight classes respectively.
Eau Claire will resume action this Friday when they travel to Whitewater for a dual meet against the Warhawks. The WIAC meet is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
