WOMEN'S HOCKEY DEFEATS BETHEL
ST. PAUL, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team defeated Bethel 2-1 here tonight at the Columbia Arena to move to 2-0-1 on the year.
The Blugolds fell behind early when the Royals scored the only goal in the first period. Eau Claire tied the game in the second period when Connie Cameron (Sr.-Chippewa Falls) took an Amanda Schultz (So.-Stevens Point/SPASH) pass and scored on a power play.
The game went to the third period tied but Claire Parda (So.-Waukesha) put the Blugolds ahead for good when she scored off a pass from Kristi Hawkinson (Jr.-Forest Lake, MN).
Goalie Sara Steinhoff (So.-West St. Paul, MN/Henry Sibley) played all 60 minutes in goal making 25 saves.
The Blugolds will be in action tomorrow when they take on St. Mary's at Hobbs Ice Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 2:05 p.m.
