WOMEN’S GOLF IN THIRD AT UW-STEVENS POINT INVITE
STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Eau Claire women’s golf team finished day one at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational in third place in the eight-team field today. At the meet, the Blugolds shot a 344 on the par 73, 5,832-yard course, putting them three strokes ahead of fourth place UW-Oshkosh and seven strokes behind second place UW-Whitewater. The host team, UW-Stevens Point is currently in first place with 317 strokes. Meghan Sobotta (Sr.-Arcadia, WI) led the Blugolds today with 82 strokes and is tied for sixth place overall. Torie Ives (So.-Osseo, WI/Osseo-Fairchild) is only one stroke behind Sobotta and tied for eighth place. Other Blugold golfers at the invite today were Brianna Obermueller (So.-River Falls, WI) who shot 89 and is tied for 21st, Katie Swift (Fr.-Onalaska, WI), who is tied for 24th with 90 strokes and Sarah Hansen (Sr.-Bangor, WI), who finished tied for 35th with 100 strokes. The Blugolds will finish the UW-Stevens Point Invitational tomorrow, which is set to tee off at 9 a.m. Day One Results - KM -
