WOMEN’S GOLF 11 STROKES BACK AT FIFTH

NORMAL, Ill. – After Day One of Illinois Wesleyan University’s Spring Fling, the UW-Eau Claire women’s golf team finds itself fifth out of 16 schools.

The fifth-place Blugolds have a 325 total. DePauw University (Ind.) leads the pack at 314. Next closest is the home team with 321 strokes. William Woods University (Mo.) and Olivet College (Mich.) are tied at 322 in front of Eau Claire. St. Mary’s College (Ind.) has the sixth-place spot at 329.

Meghan Sobotta (Sr.-Arcadia, Wis.) is second overall with a 75 on the par-72 course. Ohio Northern University’s Meagan Brennan shot a 73 and has the lead.

Torie Ives (So.-Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild) is tied for 22nd on an 81 day and Bri Obermueller (So.-River Falls, Wis.) is tied for 38th after an 84-stroke performance. Sarah Hansen (Sr.-Bangor, Wis.) has 85 to tie for 46th and give Eau Claire its last points.

The Spring Fling wraps up tomorrow in Normal.
