WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY OPENS SEASON AT ELE HANSEN INVITE
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The UW-Eau Claire women’s cross country team opened the season today, taking fourth place in the Ele Hansen Invite in Northfield, Minn. Seven runners from UW-Eau Claire attended the meet which included other runners from St. Olaf College, the University of St. Thomas, Carleton College and UW-River Falls. Monica Rolbiecki (Eau Claire, Wis./North) had the best finish for the Blugolds, finishing 21st with a time of 21:10. Kelly Palmer (Anoka, Minn.) finished in 34th place with a time of 22:21. Two other runners from UW-Eau Claire finished close behind. Megan Bell (West Bend, Wis./West) finished in 35th place with a time of 21:59 and Maria Peloquin (Prescott, Wis.) finished with a time of 22:01, good enough for 36th place. In 40th place, Amanda Denamur (Tomahawk, Wis.) crossed the line at 22:11 and Julie Meis (Platteville, Wis.) finished ten seconds later, in 42nd place. Rounding out the top seven Blugold finishers was Lauren Novak (New Berlin, Wis./West), who finished in 44th place with a time of 22:25. The Blugolds will travel to Northfield, Minn. again next Saturday, September 15 for the St. Olaf Invite. Complete Results - KM -
