WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HANDS OUT TEAM AWARDS

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team and Head Coach Tonja Englund handed out team awards yesterday at its annual banquet for the 2005-06 season.

Senior Rachel Becker (Sr.-Gilmanton, WI) was named the team's Most Valuable Player for the past season. Becker, who was an all-conference selection for the second straight year, led the team in assists with 115 and was third in the conference with 4.42 assists per game. She also finished second-best in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio as she averaged 1.37 assists per turnover.

Becker was also named the team's Defensive Player of the Year as she led the team in steals with 43.

Rookie of the Year Award went to Heidi Arciszewski (Fr.-Thorp, WI). Arciszewski was also an all-conference selection. As a freshman, she was the team's go-to player in the second half of the season.

Arciszewski scored in double-figures in 12 of the final 14 games of the season. She averaged 14 points per game during that stretch and led the team in scoring in seven of those games.

Amanda Rounsville (Fr.-Poplar, WI/Northwestern) received the Most Improved Player Award. Rounsville played in 14 games this season as a freshman.

Angie Foschi (So.-Andover, MN/Anoka) received the Blugold Award. Foschi started in six of the 25 games she participated in this past season. She finished fourth on the team in assists with 33.

Foschi and Rachel Becker also received the Captain Awards for the past season.
