LEISGANG NAMED WIAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire softball infielder Casey Leisgang (So.-Seymour) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Leisgang continued her hot hitting as UW-Eau Claire won five of six games, including a perfect 4-0 mark against conference schools. In the bottom of the seventh with two strikes and two outs, down 1-0 against UW-Whitewater on April 23, she hit a game-tying double and scored the game-winning run one batter later. Against UW-Stevens Point on April 22, she led off the game with a home run for the fourth time this season. For the week, Leisgang was nine-for-18 (.500) from the plate with six runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles, one home run and one walk. She also had three multi-hit games and extended her hitting streak to 15 games.
