PAULUS NAMED WIAC SOFTBALL POSITION PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON - UW-Eau Claire outfielder Rachel Paulus (Jr.-Wisconsin Rapids/Lincoln) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Softball Position Player of the Week, it was announced today by conference sports information director Matt Stanek.

Paulus helped the Blugolds to a 9-1 record at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Against Baptist Bible (MO) on March 24, she was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI in an 8-0 victory. In a 5-1 win over Augsburg (MN) on March 23, Paulus went 3-for-4 with one RBI. She collected two hits in each game in wins over Illinois Wesleyan, Colorado College, Endicott (MA) and Mt. Vernon Nazarene (OH), recording eight hits in 11 at-bats (.727), with four runs scored and two RBIs. During the Blugolds' seven-game win streak, Paulus is 15-for-24 (.625) with one double, one triple, six RBIs and five stolen bases.
