PLANERT EARNS ALL-DISTRICT V ACADEMIC HONORS
EAU CLAIRE - UW-Eau Claire softball infielder Emilee Planert (Sr.-Eau Claire/North) has been named to the 2004 Academic All-District V College Division Softball first team in her final season as a Blugold.
Planert, an elementary education major, posted a 3.47 grade point average, excelling both on the field and in the classroom. She was named to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference scholastic honor roll and is a full-time employee at Lorman Education Services (tutoring services).
Athletically, Planert earned her third straight All-Great Lakes Region accolades and third straight WIAC All-Conference first team honors. She led the team in batting (.398), hits (51), runs (34), total bases (82), slugging (.641), triples (3), and on-base percentage (.458) while finishing second on the team in home runs (6), RBI (27), walks (14), and stolen bases (13). She was caught stealing just twice on the season. Her batting average was the seventh highest in the WIAC while she tied for third in the conference in runs scored.
