SOCCER TO HOST NCAA REGIONAL

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – After winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, the UW-Eau Claire soccer team has been named to host an NCAA Regional Championship, NCAA officials announced today.

The Blugolds will welcome Carthage College, Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) and Wartburg College (Iowa) to the Bollinger Fields this Saturday and Sunday.

This is the second year in a row the Blugolds have been selected to host an NCAA regional. Last year Eau Claire won the regional and advanced to the Sweet 16 before falling to Wheaton College (Ill.) for the second year in a row.

This weekend’s matchups begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a 1:30 p.m. game. Eau Claire will take on Wartburg in the opening game, with Concordia-Moorhead and Carthage facing off in the afternoon game. The championship will be held Sunday at 1 p.m.

Tickets for the event will be sold at the field, one hour prior to the first match each day. Prices are $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for students.
