SOCCER EARNS THREE ACADEMIC ALL-REGION SELECTIONS

DELAWARE, OH – Three members of the UW-Eau Claire women’s soccer team have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 5 Team College Division.

All three players, two seniors and one junior earned third team honors including midfielder Liz Kooistra (Jr.- Lakeville, MN) a psychology major carrying a 3.55 grade-point average.

Defender Anna Talbot (Sr.- Apple Valley, MN) joins Kooistra as a third team honoree. Talbot is a communications disorder major carrying a 3.75 grade-point average. This is the second consecutive year Talbot has been honored in ESPN The Magazine for academics.

Rounding out the Blugold Academic All-Region honorees is defender Abby Ofstedahl (Sr.- Apple Valley, MN). Ofstedahl joins Talbot as a second time recipient of the ESPN The Magazine honor for academics. Ofstedahl also a third team honoree and carries a 3.78 grade-point average and is majoring in economics.
