SOCCER SHUTS DOWN SAINTS

MOORHEAD, Minn. – After defeating Concordia-Moorhead 1-0 in the Cobber Invite in Moorhead yesterday, the soccer team came back today with another 1-0 victory over the St. Scholastica Saints.

The Blugolds scored quickly today, getting on the board only 4:43 into the game. Allison Muer (Jr.- Minneapolis, MN/South) scored the goal for the Blugolds, which her first goal of the season.

The Blugold defense again played strong, allowing only three shots the entire game. Coming into the game, the Saints had 37 shots on the season in two games. The Saints defense allowed ten Blugold shots, which was one more than their shot per game average coming in to the game.

The Blugolds are still undefeated for the season, with a 4-0 record, while the Saints drop to 1-1-1.

Next Saturday, the Blugolds will be back at home to take on the University of Chicago. The game is set to start at 11 a.m. at the Bollinger Fields.
