SOCCER TEAM RECOGNIZED

The UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team has been recognized for its improvement, academics and sportsmanship following a stellar 2005 fall campaign.

The Blugolds ranked fourth among Division III teams for their improvement in season record from 2004-05 to 2005-06. The Blugolds finished 15-3-5 this past season after going 7-10-1 the previous year, an improvement of 7.5 victories.

The soccer squad also was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for having a team GPA above 3.00 for both the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Finally, the team received an Award of Merit for its sportsmanship in receiving less than five yellow cards during the 2005 season.
