MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD PARTICIPATES IN WARREN BOWLUS OPEN
MENOMONIE – The UW-Eau Claire men’s track and field competitors placed first a number of times today at the Warren Bowlus Open, but no team scores were kept. The track competitors took first four times today and swept first and second place in an event three times. In the 55-meter dash Frankie Adams (So.-Burnsville, MN) ran a 6.62 race while Justin Janke (So.-Black River Falls) clocked in at 6.64. Wes Fischer (So.-Rosemount, MN) put forth a 1:56.61 effort in the 800-meter run while Adam Wolfe (Jr.-Marshfield) was a spot behind him at 1:58.12. Seven of the eight spots in the 800-meter run were taken by Blugolds. Kevin Hall (So.-Green Bay/Preble) completed the 5000-meter run in 15:41.87 while second went to Chris Wirtz (Fr.-Weston/Schofield D.C. Everest) and his 15:49.31 race. The other winner was Bryan Tschudy (So.-New Richmond) in the 200-meter dash. He had a 22.88 time. The 4x400-meter relay squad managed a 3:31.73 race to finish runner-up. There were no top finishes in the field events, but the Blugolds managed second a couple times. Nate Woodward (Fr.-De Pere) leapt 1.81 meters (5’11 ¼”) in the high jump while Dan Pederson (Jr.-Boyceville) went 13.36 meters (43’10”) in the triple jump.
