FIRST DAY AT DRAKE RELAYS COMPLETE FOR MEN'S TRACK

DES MOINES, IA - In an event where it is just difficult to be able to compete in, the UW-Eau Claire men's track team did fairly well in some competitions on its first day at the impressive Drake Relays.

The 4x800-meter relay squad took 15th out of 18 competing schools. The tandem of Adam Wolfe (So.-Marshfield), Joey Veriga (Jr.-Cudahy), Ben Brossard (So.-Green Bay/Southwest), and Wes Fischer (Fr.-Rosemount, MN) clocked in at 7:46.93.

Chris Kupfer (Fr.-Germantown), Bryan Tschudy (Fr.-New Richmond), Nick Aliota (Jr.-Brookfield/Central), and Frankie Adams (Fr.-Burnsville, MN) raced in the 4x100-meter relay prelims, where they failed to make the finals after a 42.85 race, which got them 21st.

Kupfer, Tschudy, Adam Koger (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) and Aliota did not fare so well in the 4x200-meter relay as they failed to finish.

Tomorrow's action includes the sprint medley at the Drake Relays.
