Assistant Men's Track and Field Coach - Ben Schmiege

Ben Schmiege

Ben Schmiege is in his first season as an assistant men’s track and field coach at UW-Eau Claire. A former member of the Blugolds cross country and track and field teams, Schmiege will serve as a distance coach.

At UW-Eau Claire Schmiege ran a provisional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter run of 3:54.92 while also reaching a career-best 1:57.71 in the 800-meter run. Schmiege concluded his Blugold cross country career running a personal-best 25:37 over an eight-kilometer course in his last career meet.

Schmiege recently graduated from UW-Eau Claire in December 2004 earning his bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
