Erik Brandner, Senior, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial Brander was 2-1 on the weekend, as the Blugolds also went 2-1 in Oshkosh. On Friday the Blugolds picked up a 6-3 victory over La Crosse. Brandner won at No. 5 singles over Paul Vickers 6-1, 6-3. Later in the day he faced Whitewater’s Tim Moller but came up short 6-3, 7-5 as the Blugolds fell to Whitewater 7-2. Against Oshkosh on Saturday, however, the Blugolds bounced back for a 7-2 win, while Brandner picked up a victory in the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-1 over Todd Fuller.

Phil Loprinzi, Sophomore, Rochester, Minn./Mayo In two meets this weekend, Loprinzi did not drop a singles match. On Friday Loprinzi defeated his Augustana opponent 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 and followed that with a 6-3, 6-1 win over St. Ambrose Saturday in the same spot. Playing in doubles, Loprinzi won Saturday with his partner Steve Lantz 8-6, but lost on Friday 9-7. Both doubles matches were played at No. 1.
March 24, 2008 - March 30, 2008
Kevin Fawcett, Sophomore, Madison, Wis./Verona While the Blugolds won twice this weekend, a 9-0 victory over Hamline and a 7-2 win over Minnesota State-Mankato, Fawcett won all his matches. In singles play, Fawcett was undefeated playing at No. 2 against Hamline and No. 3 against Mankato. He only gave up a total of four points, two against each team, in the singles matches. He and Lars Olson also played well at No. 2 doubles in both meets, winning 8-4 against Hamline and 8-3 against Mankato.

Lars Olson, Freshman, De Pere, Wis. With the Blugolds going 6-0 on their spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina, Olson had a great showing also going undefeated. Olson did not lose a match in either singles or doubles play. He went 5-0, playing at No. 3 singles twice and No. 4 singles three times. Olson was also 5-0 at No. 2 doubles with this partner Kevin Fawcett. Olson won each of his singles matches in straight sets, giving up only 21 points the entire week on the singles side.

C.J. Rose, Senior, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley In two dual meets this weekend, Rose played two matches at No. 3 doubles with Aaron Johnson. The duo won both, 9-8 on Friday and 8-6 on Saturday. They remain undefeated in doubles play this year with a 6-0 overall record.
February 18, 2008 - February 24, 2008
Aaron Johnson, Freshman, Elk River, Minn. The Blugolds took three dual meet victories and in the process, Johnson did not lose a single match. Johnson won two singles matches and three doubles matches. On Friday against Johnson played at No. 6 singles and won 6-3, 6-4. He also played at No. 3 doubles with C.J. Rose and defeated their opponents 8-5. Against Lawrence on Saturday, Johnson won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and picked up an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles with Rose. He and Rose again played at No. 3 doubles and won 8-6.
February 10, 2008 - February 17, 2008
Lars Olson, Freshman, De Pere, Wis. While the Blugolds went 2-1 this weekend, improving their record to 7-2 this season, Olson did not drop a singles match. In the first two meets of the weekend, Olson won both in the No. 5 spot and in the final meet got a victory at No. 3 singles. With the wins, he improves his singles season record to 10-1. On Saturday he also played two matches at No. 2 doubles. He and his partner, Kevin Fawcett, lost the first one 9-8 against Luther College but bounced back for an 8-1 victory later in the day against Loras College. The duo improves to 3-1 on the season.

Steve Lantz, Junior, Rochester, Minn./Century Playing at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in two meets this week, Lantz took both to help lift the Blugolds to two 9-0 victories on Sunday. In Lantz’s first singles match on Sunday he 6-1, 6-2 over Ripon College’s Dave Czarnecki and picked up an 8-3 win playing with Phil Loprinzi at No. 1 doubles. He also won 6-4, 6-4 over Macalester’s Brad Goldstein at No. 1 singles in the second meet of the day and was also victorious at No. 2 doubles, winning 8-4, again playing with Phil Loprinzi.
January 28, 2008 - February 3, 2008
Brett Burleigh, Freshman, Verona, Wis. The Blugolds opened play this week playing four dual meets. The team went 3-1, losing only to Division II St. Cloud State on Friday. Burleigh had a good weekend for the Blugolds playing in the No. 6 singles spot. On Friday against Concordia-Moorhead he won with scores of 6-2, 6-2 and on Saturday picked up a victory over St. Scholastica 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. He also played a doubles exhibition match and won 8-1 over his Northwestern opponent.
