MEN’S TENNIS ENDS SEASON WITH DEFEAT TO WHITEWATER
EAU CLAIRE – The UW-Eau Claire men’s tennis team ended its season with a 13-8 record after falling 8-1 to UW-Whitewater in its final match of the year today. The team had a five-match win streak going into the contest, a season-best. It also is the only home loss on the year. The only win of the day came in No. 2 doubles, where Phil Loprinzi (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) and Aaron Nordenskjold (Sr.-Red Wing, MN) took an 8-5 victory. Only one singles player made it to three sets, that being Jeff Peterson (Sr.-Edina, MN). He had a 6-3, 4-6, 6-7 fight in No. 5 play. The No. 1 player for Whitewater was Robin Borg, son of tennis great Bjorn Borg. It is the second most wins for a season under Coach Gillman, with last year’s 15 being the most.
