MEN’S TENNIS BEATS BETHEL

ST. PAUL, MN – The UW-Eau Claire men’s tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory over Bethel University (MN) today to improve to 10-7 on the year.

The team’s match versus Concordia-Moorhead (MN) was cancelled.

In No. 1 singles, Tim Eisele (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN) narrowly won 2-6, 6-4, 10-6. Steve Lantz (So.-Rochester, MN/Century) won in No. 2 play 6-4, 6-2 while Aaron Nordenskjold (Sr.-Red Wing, MN) won 6-3, 6-4 in the No. 3 matchup. Jeff Peterson (Sr.-Edina, MN) posted 7-5s in No. 5 play while Phil Loprinzi (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) won in No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-1.

The only doubles team to win was Peterson and Erik Brandner (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial), which triumphed 8-2.

Eau Claire only has home matches for the rest of the season. The first of those four matches is Friday against Hamline University (MN) at 3 p.m.
