MEN’S TENNIS TROUNCES ST. MARY’S
WINONA, MN – The UW-Eau Claire men’s tennis team notched a 9-0 victory over St. Mary’s (MN) today as the team improved to 6-5. In No. 1 play, Tim Eisele (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN) had a 6-4, 6-1 day. Steve Lantz (So.-Rochester, MN/Century) won in the second slot 6-3, 4-6, 12-10. Aaron Nordenskjold (Sr.-Red Wing, MN) won in No. 3 singles 6-1, 2-6, 10-8. Erik Brandner (Jr.-Eau Claire/Memorial) had 6-1’s in No. 4 singles while Brett Gressick (Jr.-De Pere) triumphed 6-4, 6-3 in No. 5 play. Jeff Peterson (Sr.-Edina, MN) defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-0 for the No. 6 singles victory. Eisele and Lantz doubled up the Cardinals 8-4 in No. 1 doubles, as did Peterson and Brandner in No. 3 doubles. Nordenskjold teamed with Phil Loprinzi (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) in No. 2 doubles for an 8-6 win. Depending on the weather, tomorrow the team will face St. Olaf College (MN) at 2 p.m. and Northwestern College (MN) at 5 p.m. Both matches will be in Owatonna, MN. St. Mary's Results - PH -
