MEN'S TENNIS WINS THIRD-STRAIGHT MEET
DECORAH, IA - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team won its third straight dual meet tonight, defeating Hamline University 6-1 at the Luther Invitational. The victory improves the Blugolds to 5-1 overall this season. Hamline suffers its first loss of the season as it drops to 2-1. The Blugolds won five of the six singles matches on the night. Three of the five victories were tight three-set matches. At No. 1 singles, Tim Eisele (So.-Apple Valley, MN) defeated his opponent in three-sets: 6-3, 6-7, 7-6. In probably the best match of the night it was Aaron Nordenskjold (Jr.-Red Wing, MN) at No.5 singles defeating his opponent: 7-6, 6-7, 7-6. Jeff Peterson (Jr.-Edina, MN) at No.6 singles also won his match in three-sets: 6-3, 5-7, 7-6. Other singles winners for the Blugolds were Jake Znidarsich (So.-La Crosse, WI/Central) at No.2 singles and Steve Lantz (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Century) at No.4 singles. The Blugolds won two of the three doubles matches to gain a point for the team. At No.2 doubles it was the team of Nordenskjold and Znidarsich winning 8-5 and at No.3 doubles it was the team of Peterson and C.J. Rose (So.-Apple Valley, MN) winning 9-7. The Blugolds will have a busy day tomorrow at the Luther Invitational as they will face Cornell College in the morning at 8:30 a.m. and then face Luther College in the afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Eau Claire 6, Hamline 1 Singles Results No. 1 - Tim Eisele (EC) def.
