MEN'S TENNIS REBOUNDS WITH VICTORY OVER CONCORDIA

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team rebounded from its first meet loss yesterday by defeating Concordia-Moorhead today 6-1 at the Eau Claire YMCA Tennis Center.

The victory improves the Blugolds to 3-1 this season, while the Cobbers fall to 0-2.

The Blugolds won five of the six singles matches on the day. Tim Eisele (So.-Apple Valley, MN) at No.1 singles picked up his third win of the season defeating his opponent in three-sets: 7-5, 1-6, 6-4. At No.2 singles, Jake Znidarsich (So.-La Crosse, WI/Central) also won his third match of the season rallying to win in three-sets: 6-7, 6-2, 6-3.

Erik Brandner (So.-Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) at No.3 singles won his first match of the season, winning 7-5, 6-1. Steve Lantz (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Century) at No.5 singles defeated his opponent easily 6-1, 6-2. Kevin Fawcett (Fr.-Madison, WI/Verona) won his singles match by default at No.6 singles.

The Blugolds took home a point in the doubles portion, winning two of the three matches. The No.2 doubles team of C.J. Rose (So.-Apple Valley, MN) and Jeff Peterson (Jr.-Edina, MN) won its match 9-7 and the No.3 doubles team of Brandon Buth (So.-Appleton, WI/West) and Brett Gressick (So.-De Pere, WI) won by default.

Next, the Blugolds will host Northwestern College tomorrow at the McPhee Physical Education Center tennis courts with the action starting at 4 p.m.
