MEN'S TENNIS CRUISES TO SECOND-STRAIGHT WIN

DULUTH, MN - The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season as it handled St. Scholastica today 8-1.

Once again the Blugolds won five of the six singles matches. Tim Eisele (So.-Apple Valley, MN) picked up his second win of the season as he coasted to victory 6-0, 6-1 at No.1 singles. Jake Znidarsich (So.-La Crosse, WI/Central) also picked his second win at No.2 singles as he defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-4. Aaron Nordenskjold (Jr.-Red Wing, MN) picked up his first win of 2006 as he defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-2 at No.3 singles. Steve Lantz (Fr.-Rochester, MN/Century) at No.5 singles and Kevin Fawcett (Fr.-Madison, WI/Verona) at No. 6 singles both won their matches easily.

The Blugolds also swept the doubles action. The No.1 doubles team of Znidarsich and Lantz defeated their opponents 8-5. The No.2 doubles team of Eisele and Nordenskjold and the No.3 doubles team of C.J. Rose (So.-Apple Valley, MN) and Jeff Peterson (Jr.-Edina, MN) both won their matches 8-2.

Next, the Blugolds will stay on the road to face Bethel College on Friday night. The action is set to begin at 5 p.m.
