WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING TOPS MANKATO
EAU CLAIRE - In the McPhee Pool tonight, the UW-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving teams defeated MSU-Mankato by a score of 131 to 111. There were many notable races. Emily Viau (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN/Eastview) was the first overall swimmer in the 1000 yard freestyle with an 11:31.12 time. In 25.16, Cori Severson (Sr.-Brainerd, MN) defeated 11 others in the 50 yard freestyle. In the 100 yard backstroke, Emmie Lee (So.-Zimmerman, MN/Elk River) topped all others with a 1:04.88 race. Annie Gorman (Sr.-Menomonie) outswam nine competitors in the 500 yard freestyle at 5:30.25. Emily Diehl (So.-Prarie du Sac/Sauk Prarie) claimed the top spot in the 100 yard breaststroke and the 200 yard IM, with times of and 1:12.68 and 2:22.45, respectively. The team of Hannah Rivall (So.-Stillwater, MN), Ane Klomps (So.-Rochester, MN/Mayo), Kyle Welke (So.-Eau Claire/North), and Severson compiled a 1:44.83 200 yard freestyle relay to take first.
