Beyer, who broke the 1,000-point margin for his career on January 30 against UW-Superior, had an exceptional week for the Blugolds. He scored 40 points on 17-for-22 shooting from the field and 6-for-10 shooting from the line. He also had 18 boards including a career-high 14 rebounds in Saturday’s game. With team scoring leader Dan Beyer in foul trouble, Probst picked up the slack against Oshkosh, scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He came back with 26 points in a four-point road win at River Falls, just two shy of the career-high 28 he totaled in an overtime win over Marian three weeks ago. November 12, 2007 - November 18, 2007

Dan Beyer, Senior, Inside, Waukesha, WI/Catholic Memorial

In two hard-fought games this weekend at the Warburg Tournament in Waverly, Iowa, the Blugolds came up short in both, but broke number of records on Friday. The 132-137 loss to Grinnell marked the highest Blugold score in the program’s history, with the previous high coming in 1982 with a 127-62 win over UW-Platteville. Beyer scored a game-leading 34 points and also pulled down a game-leading 10 rebounds. Beyer shot 15-for-15, which ties for fourth all-time in any NCAA division for best shooting percentage. The record for most shots and best shooting percentage is held by Lance Berwald who went 20-for20 in a game in 1984. In Saturday’s 55-64 loss to Aurora University, Beyer also had a game-leading 13 rebounds and added nine points, second on the team. The Blugolds played Aurora, who was ranked 13th in the d3hoops.com preseason poll, closely in the first half, which ended tied at 29, but Aurora eventually pulled away in the nine point victory. Beyer now leads the Blugolds with a 21.5 points per game average and has a .679 field goal percentage.
