MEN'S BASKETBALL BEGINS WITH BLUE AND GOLD SCRIMMAGE
EAU CLAIRE – The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team had its annual intra-squad scrimmage tonight at Zorn Arena and the White team came out on top of the Blue team 96-81. Both teams shot the ball well as both had field goal percentages of over 50%. Both teams also shot above 70% from the free throw line. Leading the way for the White team was Dan Beyer (Jr.-Waukesha, WI/Catholic Memorial) who had 30 points. Jared Bardon (Jr.-DeForest, WI) was second on the White team with 24 points. Bardon also led the team with seven rebounds. Newcomer Steve Hoelzel (Jr.-Kaukauna, WI/UW-Milwaukee) was the only other member on the White team in double figures as he had 10 points. Leading the way for the Blue team was Luke Meier (Jr.-Cross Plains, WI/Middleton) with 18 points. Meier also led the Blue team with five rebounds. Newcomers Geoff Probst (Fr.-Moose Lake, MN/U. of North Dakota) and Chance Weisensel (Fr.-Alamogordo, NM) both added 13 points. The Blugolds open play Friday, November 17th at the Manchester Tournament in Indiana. Eau Claire’s first opponent will be Alma College (MI) at 3 p.m. Blue and Gold Game Box Score - JR -
