GYMNASTICS FINISHES FOURTH AT JOHN ZUERLEIN INVITATIONAL

MENOMONIE – The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team finished fourth at the four-team John Zuerlein Invitational hosted by UW-Stout here tonight at Johnson Fieldhouse.

Gustavus Adolphus (MN) won the event with a score of 175.125 points followed by UW-Stout with 174.075 points. UW-Whitewater finished third with 172.175 points followed by the Blugolds with a score of 167.450.

Anna Sutherland (So.-Arden Hills, MN/Roseville) won the vault competition with a score of 9.375 defeating Brittany Moore of Gustavus by 0.05 points.

Kristi Olson (Jr.-Minnetonka, MN) placed fifth on the bars with an 8.650. Kristine Funk (So.-Mound, MN/Westonka) finished just behind Olson tying for sixth place scoring an 8.600.

Olson was also the top Blugold finisher on the balance beam placing sixth with an 8.700. Sutherland also posted a top-10 finish placing eighth with an 8.625.

Ashley Brett (Sr.-Forest Lake, MN) was the top Blugold place winner on the floor as she finished 11th with a score of 8.550.

Sutherland completed the night in fifth place in the all-around competition with a score of 34.900. Olson finished eighth in the all-around with a four-event total of 33.975.

Up next the Blugolds travel to La Crosse where they will compete in the Gershon McClellan Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse on Friday, February 2. Competition is set to begin at 6:00 P.M.
