GYMNASTICS FINISHES SECOND IN TRIANGULAR

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team finished a close second today ahead of UW-Whitewater, but just behind winner Hamline University with a score of 173.050.

The second place finish gives the Blugolds a 2-1 overall record. The first place finish gives Hamline a 2-1 record and UW-Whitewater falls to 0-3.

Lynn Morris On BeamThe Blugolds' Lynn Morris (Sr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) finished second in the all-around competition with a score 35.475. She finished in second in the balance beam and was the Blugolds top performer in the uneven parallel bars and floor exercise. Angie Cich (So.- Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) had the best score for the Blugolds in the vault competition.

Hamline won the meet with a score of 174.450. Hamline swept the events in the meet. Kristen Weniger won the floor exercise and finished first all-around with a score of 35.850. Hamline's Kayla Sirmans finished in first in the uneven parallel bars and in the vault event. Brynn Stenslie had the top score in the balance beam event

UW-Whitewater finished third with a score of 169.000. Tracy Cummings was Whitewater's top all-around performer with a score of 34.325.

Up next the Blugolds will travel to Texas to face Texas Woman's University in a dual meet next Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
